The final piece in the NWFL coaching puzzle is in place at last, with the Circular Head Saints appointing a senior coach for the 2024 Coastal football season.
The Saints have announced Victorian Scott Hanson will take over the reigns after Cameron Lockett stepped down at the end of this season.
Hanson has coaching experience in the Goulburn Valley League and the Kyabram District League and will be supported by three-times Darrel Baldock Medal winner Sam Douglas as his assistant coach.
Five of the seven current NWFL clubs have been forced to look for new coaches over the past two months, with Ulverstone, Latrobe, Penguin and reigning premier Devonport all making recent appointments.
East Devonport, which hopes to re-join the competition in next year, has also named a senior coach ahead of a vote at the league’s annual general meeting in December to re-admit the Swans, who dropped out in 2021.
