Controversial Australian tennis star Bernard Tomic could make an appearance at the McDonalds Burnie International in February next year if he is not granted a wildcard entry into the Australian Open in January.
Currently ranked number 278th in the world, Tomic has been playing the Challenger Pro Circuit this year, lifting his ranking from 825th at the start of the year.
The Burnie International is part of the Challenger circuit and could be important in the 31 year-old’s comeback.
The former Australia and US Open junior singles champion won the Burnie International singles title as an 18 year-old in 2010.
