Thousands of North-West Coasters are expected to buy a ticket in tonight’s $100 million Powerball division one jackpot.
And the odds seem to suggest someone on the North West Coast is due for a win, with none of Powerball’s 20 division one winners last year coming from Tasmania.
However, Oz Lotto was kinder to the region last year, with a division one $30 million winner in Burnie in August, which was the biggest individual Lotto win in Tasmania for the year.
One lucky ticket buyer at Strahan also pocketed $10 million.
A lucky winner at Howrah, in the South of the state, also won a cool $5.63 million.
Matt Hart from The Lott says more than half of Australian adults are expected to have a ticket in tonight’s Powerball draw, with many last-minute punters choosing to buy on-line.
