Coastal builders star at awards

North-West building and construction companies have been recognised as among the best in the state at the Tasmanian Master Builders awards for excellence.

Devonport-based Fairbrother, which also has offices and workshops in Hobart, Launceston, Melbourne, Geelong, Bendigo and Warrnambool won six awards for its work on the University of Tasmania’s River’s Edge facility in Launceston.

The awards included specialist contractor of the year, best use of Australian products, best education facility, most energy efficient, best new construction between $20 million and $50 million, and best soil and water management.

Other Coastal companies winning awards included Davies Constructions at Sheffield (two awards), Platinum Pro Constructions at Spreyton, Laing Homes at Gawler, Devonport companies JPO Building Constrictors and Beardwood Pty Ltd and Ulverstone based De Jong and Sons Constructions and Heazlewood Homes.
