Ratepayers in Kentish and Circular Head districts are the most satisfied by the conduct of their councils over the past 10 years, according to a Government report.

The report says no complaints associated with alleged breached of the council code of conduct had been brought by either ratepayers or fellow councillors for a decade in both municipalities.

The Devonport City Council has had the most complaints in the past 10 years, with six – three of which were upheld.

The Burnie City Council is the only Coastal council to have had a code of conduct complaint since the most recent Local Government elections in 2022.

Deputy Mayor Giovanna Simpson and Councillor Amina Keygan lodged a complaint about social media posts by fellow councillor Trent Aitken.

The complaint was partially upheld by an independent panel and Councillor Aitken was issued a reprimand.

Complaints aimed at Latrobe, Kentish, Central Coast and Waratah-Wynyard Councils have been far and few between over the past 10 years, with just one each.
