June 27, 2024 10:35 am in by

A new Burnie market will commence next month to replace the Burnie Farmers Market at the Wivenhoe Showground, which had been running for more than 20 years and was recently closed by the Burnie City Council.

Dubbed the Burnie City Market, the new event will be held in Burnie’s Marine Plaza on the first and third Saturday of each month from 8.30 am to 1 pm.

The council hopes the markets will also benefit local retailers by drawing more people into the CBD.
